Project Manager

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, lead a Subcontract Delivery Team to develop and deliver a programme of projects. Management and responsibility for both SSG and their suppliers onsite, whilst collaborating with other Project Managers, and associated teams to realise forecast revenue, margin, HSEQ and ensure a positive client experience.

Provide Operational Management assistance in delivering the Pre-Construction and Construction related processes required to satisfactorily deliver site-based project works. Support with the scoping of work and development of project proposals.

Oversee scheduling, arrangement of forecasting works with relevant stakeholders and then liaise with all relevant parties including but not limited to Operations Managers, Estates Managers, clients, trade contractors and other third parties including departments to agree acceptable delivery of works. Ensuring access is available and the planned works do not compromise day to day operations and that works are delivered in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Plan, manage and monitor site progress, including mitigating delays to the works where necessary. Oversee subcontractors, labour and material requirements for the contract and support Project the team with matters primarily relating to on-site activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Create cost loaded programmes and plans for control and monitoring of works delivery using multiple methods, planning software’s, short interval control, visual management and last planner
  • Understand the contractual obligations required by SSG and work effectively with the Contracts manager and QS to protect SSG’s contractual position
  • Foster effective client relationships with current and potential customers, showcasing our project delivery capabilities. Build strong partnerships with supply partners to bring innovation to customers whilst ensuring effective delivery of solutions that meet quality expectations
  • Resource manages, recruit and retain talented individuals to support project delivery and future growth. Chair regular individual, project, and programme reviews; with relevant stakeholders both internal teams and external and compile reports to Operational / Regional / client leadership on progress / performance
  • Collaborate with counterpart leads/managers and teams to foster teamwork and support colleagues & support the exploration of innovative technologies and approaches to manage the project execution process

Skills / Experience:

  • Recognised Building Services industry experience with a history of accountability
  • Knowledge and experience leading projects and project teams within an operational environment
  • Proven record of establishing effective relationships at all levels
  • Able to deliver in a collaborative manner with mixed client / consultant / supplier / internal team base
  • Professional attitude, with the ability to demonstrate strong leadership qualities and good communication skills, to influence positive outcomes
  • Commercially astute; with experience or understanding of commercial management
  • Experience in identifying and realising opportunities
  • An OND/HND in a relevant subject is desirable
