SIP controlled VoIP speech
- All speech communications are delivered using industry standard SIP controlled Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology.
- The nurse call uses industry standard speech codecs supported by PBX’s and third-party telephony such as G711 ALAW/ULAW to allow for easy integration to other systems/telephony and mobile devices.
- Every speech device on the system has its own individual SIP extension number; allowing every speech device to be independently dialed and contacted.
- The total number of simultaneous speech calls/conversations supported by the system is equal to the total number of speech devices on the entire nurse call system.
- All speech communication is full duplex audio and requires no extra wiring.
- Power, data and speech all use a single cable and patch into an ‘off-the-shelf’ industry standard PoE Ethernet switch by any manufacturer, such as Cisco, HP and Netgear.
- No specific hardware by the nurse call manufacturer is required.
- The nurse call system has the ability to connect to other VoIP based telephony systems; either wired or wireless for the purpose of messaging and speech communications.
- The nurse call system can integrate to a range of third party systems/devices and is not vendor locked to a specific manufacturer of telephony, mobile device or messaging platform.
