Project Engineer

SSG are looking for a project engineer based in and around the North Tyneside area with potential to manage within the greater Northeast of England if required at a later stage.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the project Engineer will lead a Subcontract Delivery Team to develop and deliver a programme of refurbishment to Nurse Call systems at 2 No North East Hospitals.

Experience of Acting as a principal contractor will be a requirement as whilst SSG are primarily on site to deliver the updated Nurse Call system, they will also be required to manage, Decoration, fire stopping, and cleaning during the refurbishment works.

The ability to manage and take responsibility for SSG subcontractors whilst collaborating with other trades if necessary, and associated teams if necessary to realise the project delivery target. Some ability to assist in forecasting revenue, margin, HSE&Q and ensure a positive client experience.

Assist the Project Manager in delivering the Pre-Construction and Construction related processes required to satisfactorily deliver site-based project works. Support the Project Manager with site meetings and liaise with all relevant parties including but not limited to Operations Managers, Estates Managers, clients, trade contractors and other third parties including departments to agree acceptable quality and timing of the delivery of works. Ensuring access is available and the planned works do not compromise day to day operations and that works are delivered in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Plan, manage and monitor site progress, under the guidance of the project manager. Oversee subcontractors, labour and material requirements for the contract and support Project the team with matters primarily relating to on-site activities. Some night work will be required as some of the departments shut at night allowing easier access to carry out the works, the extent of which will be discussed at interview stage 2 positions are available on a fixed term contract for the duration of the projects.

Contract

A fixed term contract will be offered for these positions in line with the contract duration of 20 weeks although this duration will need to be agreed with the client
