Job Description:

The process quality technician role can cover any element of the value stream from goods receipt to final dispatch. Provide proactive and problem resolution support to ensure identified non-conformances are effectively managed to resolution via robust corrective action. Make a positive contribution to the company and its products through their work ethic, expertise, quality of work and willingness to learn and help in a wide range of tasks.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Perform quality checks and inspection of received, in-process manufactured and as-shipped product ensuring that SSG and customer quality requirements are met.
  • Records and maintains accurate records /documentation of inspection activities.
  • Leads the collaboration with production team to identify and address quality issues supporting the implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Utilises measurement and test equipment to perform in process monitoring of manufacturing process i.e. micrometres, vernier callipers, gloss meters. Paint thickness gauges etc.
  • Conducts audits of the manufacturing process to identify areas for improvement ensuring compliance to regulations and standards
  • Fully engaged in the customer concern management process and where directed, conducts containment activity when required, providing production employees with documented methods for this activity.
  • Conducts root cause analysis of identified quality issues to address underlying causes.
  • Facilitate the material review board process to ensure that the investigation, the disposition root cause and
  • CAPA are effectively and robustly managed.
  • Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure quality objectives are consistently met.
  • Tracks and reports quality metrics in relation to the role, highlighting areas of improvement and potential risks.
  • Conduct any other reasonable management requests in line with business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Internal Management Systems Auditor ISO9001:2015
  • Level 2 education minimum (i.e. GCSE Maths, English, and Science subjects)
  • Yellow belt lean six sigma

Experience:

  • 3 years minimum working experience in a manufacturing inspection role
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Basic Metrology
  • Proven ability in leading 8D or other problem investigation and improvement methodologies
