Bed Occupancy
Having accurate knowledge of bed occupancy levels in real-time is crucial to the effective running of any hospital. Much time can be saved by providing centralised data and eliminating the need to make phone calls or walk departments to physically check availability.
At a glance:-
Automatically generated bed occupancy reporting
- Information displayed on-screen locally at staff bases, on mobile smart devices and centrally at the bed manager’s office.
- Text and graphical reporting options available.
- Analytics generated for evaluation and planning, including dates of admission and departure, length of stay.
Efficient room turnaround
- On patient discharge, single action notification to housekeeping to clean and prepare a room for the next occupant.
- Single action notification to bed management when the room is ready to be reassigned.
How it works
Whilst introducing a patient to their room the member of staff activates a pre-programed button installed within the patient room. An over door light outside the patient room illuminates to indicate that the room is occupied.
Simultaneously, a message is sent to the central system and all connected devices and indicators are updated to show the bed is occupied.
At the time of patient departure, a similar procedure is undertaken to update the system; indicating that the room is unoccupied and housekeeping are required to attend.
Additional functionality includes:-
- RFID swipe card activation for added security and attending staff ID.
- Integration with third-party systems such as patient admissions.
