Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham. Ward 12
Ward 12 at Heartlands Hospital had, for many years, been served by a conventionally-wired nurse call system that was reaching end-of-life with increased risk of system failure and replacement parts were becoming obsolete.
The hospital recognised a new system was required and evaluated all options, paying particular attention to the need to install the new system with minimal disruption and in the shortest possible time.
Static Systems’ ‘wireless’ nurse call system was seen as the ideal patient-to-nurse communication solution for the 35-bed ward, comprising 6 and 4 bed bays together with toilets accessed along corridors.
The system works standalone with follow-the-light over door units and call reporting to a local touch-screen staff indicator.
Features of the system include:
- Patient-to-staff nurse call
- Staff-to-staff emergency call
System: Aspire SmartSync® ‘wireless’ nurse call system.
Number of endpoints: 40.
