Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Mulberry Ward
The Mulberry Ward at Hinchingbrooke Hospital has a total of only 7 beds with en-suite, so when the time came to replace the existing digital, hard-wired nurse call system, the estate team recognised the benefits of installing a wireless solution.
Although the hospital already had wireless nurse call installed in parts of the hospital - provided by other suppliers, it was keen to trial Static Systems’ Aspire SmartSync® solution.
During the install works the original system was left in situ, although the existing hand unit power supply units at each bed position were isolated and the space taken up by the new reset, jack and emergency units.
Control of the patient’s bedlight was provided as a facility of the new patient hand units.
The estate team was happy with the trail and have decided to retain the Static Systems’ nurse call system on a permanent basis.
Features of the system include:
System: Aspire SmartSync® wireless nurse call system.
- Patient-to-nurse call
- Staff-to-staff emergency call
- Control of bedlights through the patient hand unit
Number of endpoints: 14.
