Leicester Royal Infirmary, A&E Department
The project to create a complete A&E Department across one level, accommodating units for: Urgent Care, Admissions, Major & Minors, Paediatric Assessment, Clinical Decisions and Elderly Care Assessment was carried out in two phases. Phase 1 was a substantial new build and Phase 2 a refurbishment of the existing areas.
Static Systems was chosen as the specialist provider for both nurse call and bedhead services trunking.
Working closely with the project management team to ensure understanding of their specific requirements, Static Systems assisted with the development of design proposals and also provided installation and commissioning.
Full IP nurse call systems were provided on a dedicated Local Area Network (LAN), also provided by Static Systems.
On Phase 1, a ‘wire-free’ attack alarm system was provided. This was integrated into the nurse call infrastructure and the same LCD indicators were used for both systems - achieving time and cost savings.
Features of the systems include:
• Patient-to-nurse call
• Staff-to-staff emergency call
• Integrated ‘wire-free’ attack alarm (Phase 1 only)
System: Ultima™ nurse call and attack alarm with Modus Horizontal bedhead services trunking.
Static Systems has also supplied Codemlon™ and Aspire SmartSync® nurse call to this site, along with Modus Vertical Units.
