I’m really enjoying the diversity of my role. Every job is different, you never suffer from monotony.
On a typical day I am given a work load sheet showing all the projects allocated to me and their different levels of priority with time estimates to indicate how long each should take. I am also given an enquiry folder for each job outlining what each client needs. This can range from simple modifications to an existing system through to a brand new system for a new build project.
I then prepare a quotation for the client. This process brings me into contact with many other people
here at Static Systems and my training in the different departments has equipped me to know who best to speak with to get the information I need.
Originally I was looking to join the technical services team but when I discovered they were looking for additional personnel in the internal sales team, I decided to apply with the prospect of a full time job at the end of it. I’m glad I did, it’s opened up a lot of opportunities for me. At a later stage I hope there will be the
opportunity to become a Key Account Manager.
I really enjoy designing systems, so, when we get a request for a new project, it’s great to be able to use my knowledge to create a solution for the client.
My experience as an apprentice is that to be successful you have to put in 100 percent effort and not be half hearted about what you do, but to throw yourself into it and get fully involved in every aspect.
