Lifetime Achievement Award for Lawrence Turner
The founder and chairman of Static Systems Group, Lawrence Turner OBE, has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM).
Bestowed on an individual deemed to have made a significant contribution to the healthcare industry and served the Institute for a long period, the award is selected by the president, a past president and an elected member of the IHEEM Council.
For over 40 years, Lawrence Turner has been committed to excellence in hospital engineering. Mr Turner founded Static Systems (originally Static Switching) in 1964, its first premises being modest, located in the end section of a prefabricated hut at Pendeford Airfield. Lawrence’s innovative and groundbreaking interest in electronics led the company to specialise in alarm and communication systems.

Under his guidance Static Systems grew and rapidly became a leading company in nurse call, bedhead services trunking and fire alarm systems. Lawrence underpinned the success of the company with his drive and passion for research and development. In addition, he has supported and guided IHEEM for many years including two years as its president.
