New innovations are very much in evidence this year. Shown for the first time are a number of exciting advances being made with the company's Fusion-IP healthcare communications system, including a major breakthrough in real time location (RTLS) systems.

The new Fusion-IP RTLS Staff Attack Alarm, being launched this year, uses 'intelligent' ultrasound technology for greater location accuracy in 'real time', with the identity of the wearer also being provided. Ultrasound bounces off hard surfaces such as walls, floors or ceilings, and does not penetrate through glazing; helping to contain the signal to a very specific area. Also, ultrasound is immune to interference from electromagnetic noise and light sources such as the sun.

The latest version of SSG's Fusion-IP Nurse Call System brings IP and two-way speech (SIP) to the bedside. This complements the many other 'apps' which include roaming patient call, fall monitoring, bed status and remote access.

Another highlight is SSG's innovative modular wall system designed to meet the needs of both new-build and refurbishment projects. The units can be pre-fabricated off site for efficient installation.
